“Free Reed have quite simply rewritten the rulebook”
[The] book is actually deserving of a full-length review all to itself, but suffice to say it's as good as one could possibly hope for, and then some…. I could spend the rest of the week happily extolling the virtues of this wonderful set Stephen Hunt, Green Man Review
Just an amazing set that does really Swarb justice Chris Leslie
I’m sure that the protagonists Neil Wayne and Nigel Schofield are well used to receiving the accolades they so rightly deserve (the OBE can’t be too far away) and the ‘folk’ world can once again rest easy in their beds in the knowledge that justice has been served. I’m talking about the kind of justice that only comes to light after serving forty-five years on the circuit and being proved guilty of giving the public what they want and to coin a phrase “…what they really, really want”.

If anyone deserves a tribute as impressive and comprehensive as this Swarb!! box it is surely mercurial fiddler Dave Swarbrick….This luxurious box set is another in Free Reed's exemplary series Mark Walker, Amazon editorial review
Great stuff, and further proof if it were needed that the guy is the governor of folk fiddle. This is Oxfordshire, Community web-page
It’s just great, brilliant, amazing Ric Sanders
Remember last year's amazing Fairport unConventional 4-CD blockbuster set?? "How can they follow that" we all said .... Well, Free Reed have delivered the answer in a stunning new release, another 4 CD Box-Set on 'the life and music of folk's finest fiddler' Dave Swarbrick….The jaw-dropping packaging is even a replica of Swarb's own fiddle case, complete with fiddle string packs, (his bows are in the lid!) fizgig folk and roots news
The Swarb! Box…is superb. I loaded it onto the iPod for the 3 hour plane trip to Perth to see my daughter the weekend before last. If it is possible it is even better than the FC box. David Kelly, writing to The Fairport List
A product worthy of the great man himself. Amazon purchaser review (5/5)
“Marvellous!” John Peel
For their definitive treatment on former Fairport fiddle legend Dave Swarbrick those crazy Free Reedsters deserve the highest of accolades; the end result simply cannot be faulted. Colin Harper, Record Collector
